    What is the NCORE 2017 schedule of events? NCORE 2017 will kick off with Pre-Conference Institutes the morning of Tuesday, May 30th. Breakout sessions begin the morning of Wednesday, May 31st. Plan on enjoying conference sessions and visiting our exhibit hall from the mornings through late afternoon each day. Evenings will have films, featured performances, panels and other events. Our Preliminary Schedule Overview has an outline of each day.

    What is the schedule for the caucus meetings? Caucus meeting schedules will be available two weeks before the conference.

    I need to book my flights, what time will the conference conclude? The closing keynote ends at approximately 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 3rd.

    What food and beverage will be provided at NCORE 2017? Please view chart below:

    What if I have dietary preferences or concerns? Please indicate your dietary preference when you register. If someone else will register for you, please make them aware of your needs. You may always email ncore@ou.edu to modify your preferences or request assistance. 

    What dining establishments are nearby? Fort Worth's Sundance Square has many dining options. Check out more information here and visit the Show Your Badge program page for offers from local restaurants, retail and entertainment venues that offer discounts to NCORE attendees. 

    How do I request accommodations for accessibility at the conference? The University of Oklahoma's College of Continuing Education and the National Conference on Race & Ethnicity are committed to making activities as accessible as possible. If you have accessibility or accommodation needs that fall under the regulations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, please indicate your this on your registration form or write to NCORE Staff at ncore@ou.edu by May 9th, 2017. 

    May I use a motorized scooter at the Convention Center? Yes. You may use your personal motorized scooter. Should you need to rent one, you can make arrangements with DME Scooters & More. They will work with you on pricing and can deliver to the Fort Worth Convention Center.

    What is the official hashtag for the conference? The official hashtags are #NCORE2017 and #StartTheConversation

    Can I earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs)? If you attend a Pre-Conference Institute, you will earn one CEU from the University of Oklahoma Outreach. A form will be available at your Pre-Conference Institute session that must be signed by the presenter at the conclusion. Your CEU certificate will be mailed to you after NCORE. It will be the discretion of your organization whether they accept the CEU for credit. 

    I have questions. Who do I contact? You can e-mail us at ncore@ou.edu (please note that during NCORE, this inbox will not be monitored as frequently). At the conference, you may find us at Registration or at our information booths. You can tweet @NCOREConference with #AskNCORE and we can try to answer questions there, too.

    What style of attire should I wear during NCORE? Many attendees wear business casual attire. We respect that personal choices may vary. We encourage attendees to wear apparel that represents and celebrates their school spirit on Friday, June 2nd. Also, meeting rooms can be chilly and difficult to adjust to everyone's personal comfort level. So, bring a light jacket or sweater. 

    What should I bring with me to NCORE? Participants from past NCORE conferences have suggested to bring business cards. 

    Does the conference provide childcare services? NCORE does not provide childcare services.

    I want to do something unique to promote my company. Who should I contact? Email us at ncore@ou.edu to discuss opportunities with a staff member.

    How can I apply for press credentials? Please submit a short form located here for approval.

    How do I prepare myself for NCORE? Our friends at Hamline University made the video below for NCORE 2011 and their tips will help you prepare for NCORE 2017. Take a few minutes to check out their advice. Thank you Hamline University for sharing this with us!

    Where will NCORE be held in 2017? We are going to Fort Worth, Texas. 

    Where will NCORE 2017 sessions take place? The conference sessions will be at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

    Where is the exhibit hall?  On the first floor of the Fort Worth Convention Center in Exhibit Hall A.

    Where will the keynote addresses be held?  In the Ballroom on the second floor of the Fort Worth Convention Center.

    Where will we find all-gender restrooms in the Fort Worth Convention Center?  First Floor: across from Breakout Rooms 102, 103, 111, and 121 C/D. Second floor: near Breakout Rooms 200 and 203.

    Where can I find a map of the Fort Worth Convention Center? Floor plans can be found here. Additionally, maps will be available in the NCORE Program Guide and Guidebook.

    Where can I find NCORE staff to assist me onsite? Information Booths will be staffed during the conference. Locations will be posted at a later date.

    How can I learn more about Fort Worth? Located nearby is the acclaimed area known as Sundance Square, which features 35 blocks of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. We will post more location information in the weeks ahead. Visit the Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau website to learn more about Fort Worth.

    Can you tell me where NCORE 2018 will be? We will announce the location of NCORE 2018 at the Opening General Session held May 31, 2017. Mark your calendars for the dates of May 29 - June 2, 2018.

    How do I register for the conference? Online registration for NCORE 2017 is open.

    Does my registration fee include lodging? No. Separate hotel reservations must be made. 

    Does NCORE have single-day or partial registration options? No. NCORE offers registration options of the four-day conference or the four-day conference plus a day-long Pre-Conference Institute. 

    Can I volunteer at NCORE in exchange for the cost of part of my registration fee being waived? NCORE does not have a program where registrants can volunteer in exchange for a reduced registration fee because of personnel and liability issues. 

    How can I convince my boss to send me to NCORE? We created a packet for you to give to your boss. It's a justification letter with materials to explain what NCORE is and why you should be there. Click here to see the packet for 2017. 

    Are group discounts available? Yes. Groups of ten or more qualify for a 10% discount off the current registration fee. Some conditions apply. Details, processes, and a running list of institutions that have already establised a group can be found on our Group Discount Page

    Can I obtain a W-9 so my institution can process payment? Yes. Please email us at ncore@ou.edu to request the form.

    I want to pay with a check in advance. Where do I mail it? Checks should be made out to The University of Oklahoma and mailed to:

    What forms of payment do you accept on-site? We accept credit cards, cash, and checks from you, your institution or company. Any balance due must be paid before registration materials can be obtained at the conference.

    When can I pick up my registration packet at the conference? Registration times are as follows -  subject to change.

    Monday, May 29: 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm
    Tuesday, May 30: 7:30 am to 7:00 pm
    Wednesday, May 31: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
    Thursday, June 1: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
    Friday, June 2: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
    Saturday, June 3: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

    Where do I check-in and pick up my NCORE badge/materials? The location for Registration and Check-In will be posted as soon as possible.

    Do I need to register for the conference before my concurrent workshop proposal is consideredNo. Your registration status has no bearing on the proposal review.

    If my concurrent workshop proposal is accepted, do I need to register to attend NCORE? Yes, you will need to register for the conference. 

    I'm a confirmed presenter. How do I update my credentials for printed materials? Please e-mail ncore@ou.edu with the index number and title of your session, along with your information updates and changes. Changes can be made until March 24, 2017, for the printed NCORE Program Guide. After March 24th, changes in print cannot be guaranteed and may be in electronic versions only.

    Do I need to check in at the conference? Yes. You must sign in at NCORE Registration so we know you have arrived. We can answer questions and provide you with your materials.

    What audiovisual equipment is provided in each room? ​All session rooms will have the following standard set of AV equipment:LCD Projector, Screen, Flip Chart and Markers. Upon request on the workshop proposal form, we can provide sound support for computers or hand held devices and internet connectivity. Microphones will only be provided based on the size of the session room and will be determined by the NCORE Program Coordinator. 

    What audiovisual equipment is not provided by NCORE?  Computers and adapters to projecters are not provided. Additionally, NCORE will not supply tape for posting paper on any wall of the Fort Worth Convention Center, as this is prohibited by the facility. We kindly ask cooperation from our presenters in this respect since putting tape on walls will violate NCORE's contract. 

    What is NCORE? The National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education (NCORE) is a dynamic annual conference held over five days that builds a community of inclusion; it is a place for building skills, alliances, and knowledge about issues of race and ethnicity in higher education.     Who does NCORE serve? Individuals and campus teams work collaboratively under the guidance, tutelage and expertise of recognized and effective scholars, practitioners and change makers.

    Who are NCORE leaders? NCORE is guided by the Executive Committee of the Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies (SWCHRS), the National Advisory Council and the SWCHRS/NCORE staff.
